Bedrooms
Four bedrooms - Two large double ensuite bedrooms with invigorating open air showers. The third double bedroom and the single bed room are adjacent to a large bathroom with shower and huge sunken bath. All the double bedrooms have french shuttered windows that open to the garden and overlook jungle. All rooms are cooled by ceiling fans or Aircon. The Old Palm House can comfortably accommodate up to seven guests and is ideal for a family or friends travelling together.
Outside
An elegant terrace wraps around the house and provides a dinning area and secluded spots to sit and relax. The driveway meanders down the hill towards the house through landscaped gardens. The Old Palm House is set on a hilltop and immersed in an acre of tropical greenery, bamboo, jasmine and hibiscus. The pool and large Gazebo lie at the end of the gardens looking over the forest.
Getting there
Located in Heenatigala close to Galle's chic beach settlement of Thalpe, it is a 15 minute drive from Galle itself. The journey from Colombo's International Airport will take about two hours - or take the Air Taxi and fly to Koggala, which is a 10 minute drive to the villa. The new motorway will shorten the journey from Colombo to 1.5 hours Or a 40 mins trip by helicopter,
Staff
The house, gardens and pool are meticulously maintained. Daily cleaning and washing are included. Shintika our House Keeper and Cook, our house steward and our gardener are there to look after your every daytime wish and our night watchman is there every night.
A Professional Chef and extra staff can also be arranged upon request. Our staff are trained to bring you an excellent service with the natural charm of the Sri Lankans, they will look after your every need.
Food and wine
All meals can be lovingly prepared for you by our cook using local ingredients, herbs and spices, delicious vegetables and meats with of course an array of fresh sea food.
Sri Lankan cuisine is our specialty but we aim to cater for a more Western taste if applicable. An excellent selection of wines are available from our recommended wine merchant in the town.
